On a block booking also. I don't think this is an exercise to reward loyalty, its a way of the FAI getting as near a full house as possible on Wednesday. Someone could have went to all the home games except Montenegro and not get one, hardly rewarding loyalty.

Are the Seeded teams going to getting the Home leg second? I would not be suprised what Platini and them shower have up their sleeves. Personally I would love to get France and knock them out.

As far as i know, this is drawn also and it is not given to top seeds from what i remember of FIFA's press release

http://www.fifa.com/aboutfifa/federation/bodies/media/newsid=1109930.html#key+decisions+reached+rio

Furthermore, the procedure for the draw for the play-offs in the European zone, scheduled for 19 October in Zurich, was approved. Teams will be seeded on the basis of the next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, which will be published on 16 October. A draw will also be conducted to determine the home teams for the first legs.

From what i can see Johnny you'll only need to send in your stubs if you bought your tickets from ticketmaster or from the fai shop. If your on the original block booking or joined it since we moved to Croker you'll be fine and won't need to send in your stubs.

Just looking to sell off what tickets they have left to fill the place on wednesday.

i wouldnt say fair play at all, we r on block booking aswell so would have been sorted, but delaneys money hungary plan backfired with the italt/monty tickets not selling out and insted of reducing the already ludicris ticket prices , he has tried to save face in one last desperate attempt to get the number up for what we all know will be a dire turnout. The fai "loyalty" plays into the hands of the bandwagoners who only have monty tickets cos they had to get them to see the italy game

they should use georgia as the loyalty match, then we would get an accurate portrait of the genuine fans

Wonder what price new Landsdowne will be

I was in Jurys Foyer having a few bevs on Saturday and there was a stand there trying to sell 10 years tickets for 12k. I did not see one person who took an interest in four English people who were trying to promote. You would think they would have at least one Irish person involved. I had a look at the brochure and its for FAI tickets only. You get priority to purchase concert tickets and 'events'.

So that's 1200 a year for around five or six matches. They are on a different planet to reality.

Agree, it's just a ploy to sell out the Montenegro game. There were two rows of 6 seats empty in front of me for the Italy game, and these were decent seats up in the Cusack Upper, def not ticketmaster tickets. Will be interesting to see if these seats are still empty for the play-offs

Had €70 tickets down near the benches when we first moved to Croker. Gave them up fairly lively as the place was full of posers and clueless people on a jaunt. I'll never sit in the lower tiers again

It's crazy, went to Paris a few years ago and i think the tickets were €15. Italy away was about the same earlier this year.
And €50 is the cheapest tickets in the house...

They had an advert in the program for the new Lansdowne, basically saying no seats will go on sale to the general public as all tickets have been allocated to block bookers.Another atempt to flog their over priced 10 year tickets. I'm sorted anyway for my block booking seats:eek:

Did you not get a letter from the FAI a few months ago about your block booking for Lansdowne. I had two block booking tickets for the old Lansdowne and i increased it to five when we moved to Croker. The letter stated that my allocation will revert back to the two i originally had for the old Lansdowne.

I got a full brochure with all the different type of seats I cold buy for the 10years, you can get green, bronze, silver, gold and platinum,. goes from just match ticket, all the way to fancy meal and free drinks in a directors box etc,. I got offered them at a special price as im an employee of the FAI, was still too expensive.
And by 'Employee' I mean I do the FAI summer soccer schools camp things,. So all employees got first refusal on seats about a year ago,.

Exactly the same situation for me sitting in the Davin Stand. Why is it that no matter where you sit at an Ireland game there is usually some tosser sitting within close earshot? Frustrates the hell out of me!

More of the same on 317, Lr Davin where we were ... bunch of little sh1ts trying to swipe other peoples seats so they could all waive at their mammies on TV, one lad even got up and puked on the steps towards the end of the game, later snuck back only to be frog marched out by the gardai etc ... stupid sh1t or what !

Maybe from an atmosphere/football perspective but from every other perspective redeveloping Lansdowne Road is a waste of money.

Dont agree with you. I think Aviva Stadium is long overdue. Landsdowne had its day but the terraces and bucket seats were not exactly ideal especially with no roof to cover which both keeps people in from the Irish weather as much as possible and also increases noise and match atmosphere in the stadium

I cant wait for the new stadium to open

Lads I have a spare flight and hotel place for this. I may also have a spare ticket for the away end (depending on FAI allocation).

The flight is from Shannon to Paris Beauvais (Dep 17th, Return 19th) which I got in the Ryanair sale for 2 cent. The cost of name change is €100 online, not sure if there are further charges beyond that. I've never done a name change before so don't really know the score here. The hotel room is €61 per night for 2 nights. If anyone's interested send me a PM. The prices of the flights since the fixture was announced are a joke!

EDIT: Flight and Hotel now taken

I'd fill it in anyway, it only asks for your customer number if available. I was sent the application form by email from the ticket office but its also on the FAI website. Closing date is this Sunday.

Republic given 8,000 Paris tickets
Wednesday, 21 October 2009 18:19
The French Football Federation (FFF) have struck a blow to hopes of Republic of Ireland fans after restricting the away side's allocation to 10 percent for the second leg of the World Cup play-off in the Stade de France.

In 2004 Ireland were backed by a 30,000 strong support as they held France to a 0-0 draw in a World Cup qualifier in Paris.

The Republic were able to draw such a large contingent of fans into the stadium as match tickets were available online or by telephone and they were snapped up by the Green Army.

But it seems the French have learned their lesson and the tickets will only be available to buy in person.

Ireland host France at Croke Park in Dublin first before the return leg at the Stade de France four days later to decide which of the two teams qualifies for South Africa.

France coach Raymond Domenech, with bitter memories of 2004 when the huge Irish turned up and outsang their French hosts, demanded on Monday that Ireland be limited to a quarter of the total 80,000 available tickets for the Stade de France, namely 20,000.

'We can't have the Irish having more tickets than what they should be allowed, 20,000 - with 60,000 French fans around them,' Domenech told AFP.

The French Football Federation (FFF) proved even stingier on Wednesday when they allocated just 8,000 tickets to the Irish fans.

The FFF's decision was in accordance with their ticket allocation policy during the World Cup qualifiers, although it appears they have also taken Domenech's concerns to heart.

The FFF said no tickets would be sold over the internet to either set of fans, with tickets for the 18 November match going on sale from French retail outlets on Thursday.

The FFF said in a statement: 'The Irish supporters are taken care of directly by their federation, with 10 percent of the total ticket allocation being allocated as was done for all the other World Cup qualifiers.

'There will be no sale of tickets over the internet.'

A maximum of four tickets will be available per transaction and per person and tickets, once bought, would not be transferable.

French football officials added they would be cracking down on the re-sale of tickets at the stadium but also through the internet.

Go through your club again. Tickets the FAI send out to clubs are block booked by the clubs or the League that the club is a member of. I doubt they will issue play-off tickets direct to you as you do not own the block booking, the club/league does. The ticket stubs are only for Ticketmaster/Carroll's tickets only. I could be wrong but I've been involved in junior clubs before and that's how it worked back then.

If we don't get something positive from the first leg the 8,000 tickets will be enough.

I spoke with the FAI and they said BlockBook tickets and clubs are priority. So Id say you are right, the club with get the ticket and they will distrubute themselves.

Most people will have their tickets by the 1st leg Id say - I certinly hope to have mine - fingers crossed! If you paid for your travel you'd be mad not to go

Irish fans will travel regardless of 1st leg result - they will have their tickets anyway. Wouldn't rule us out even if we travel to Paris with a goal deficit. They sh1t themselves in front of their own fans

The closing date for block bookers is this today, so I doubt you will hear anything for a few days yet. My guess is they will sort out the block bookers first then they will get to the Italy/Mont stubs.

Yep they are sorting out the Block bookers 1st then remainder to Monti ticket holders and then what ever is left will be general sale.
But Delaney was on the news Friday saying it was all ready looking like a sell out with out going to any general sale.

Are you going Niall!?

Also, the FAI sent out letters of rejection to people on the Block Booking Waiting List for Lansdowne today. Only 49 people on the waiting list will be accommodated when we move back to Lansdowne. Im not too pushed myself. Having propped up the Association for 2 qualifying campaigns, ill be happy enough to get back to not going(until the glamour ties ;))

I'm not a BB so either way it shouldn't bother me but you'd have to wonder what kind of accountants are working there. Failure to qualify for this world cup and the public interest will start to fade again. Failure to do well at the start of the next qualifiers and you'll get attendances like you see in Cardiff for the Welsh games these days where they'll be closing off the top tiers. This was an opportunity for the FAI to get loyal fans on board and be guaranteed a minimum income for home games for years ahead. Instead they are showing those same fans the exit door and giving them a boot up the arse on the way out.

Could the FAI pick a worse time to do this? Not great PR with two massive games coming up.
So instead of sorting out the ticket applications for both games, they have also been sending out letters to fans that have been loyal for a number of years and telling them thanks for supporting us but the suits are our main priority.
Havn't got the letter as yet, I'm also on the waiting list. Not expecting good news but

I still cant see where they pulled this figure of 49 from!

New Capacity 50,000
Old Capacity 36,000

Increase of 14,000. Take away the suits extra seats, say 10,000 - leaves 4,000
They had note in programme for Itaty game that all general tickets for new stadium have being allocated to block bookers. Im clearly missing something here?

Imagine we finally get new Stadium of 60,000 (increase of about 15,000) and the two goons say that we will have an extra 49 season tickets available.......actually this is a dreaded thought with those two!

It's been the same prices since we got to Croker! €50 for the Lower Canal and all Upper Areas. €70 for the Lower Hogan/Cusack. And €85 for the Premium Level. Got my tickets on Monday. Waiting for the Away tickets to be sent out now.

Really ? I didn't realise that, I couldn't remember what I'd paid before for the friendlies and that. Knew if was €50 for the Italy game but thought that was cos I was in the hill.

Did premium level for an All Ireland Club final one year and it was quality having a bar you can actually get served at and tv screens at half time but don't see benefit at these games when you can't get a pint anyway ! We did manage to sneak down to the changing rooms and warm up area from the premium level though which was prob highlight of the whole day !

2004. I kinda half knew it anyway, but for some reason thought the Premium Level would get around it. Not sure how they expect to sell the Vantage seats, without even being able to have alcohol at the match!

The brochure I got off them said, you get complementary wine and champagne, at all events,.

And does the reds bar not open on CL nights?
I know it does for PL games,.

Same thing in Lyon last night was amazed at the lack of a queue for gargle and ended up buying 2 pints of it. Absolutely muck tasted horrible and ended up fcuking it on the floor.

I wasn't the only IK member to make the mistake either!

Iwas premium level for Italy game and they had a full bar so expect it to be the same for France

Yes you can, have mates who work for KMCS in Dublin and they all have access to premium level/corporate for every game. They have a full bar but aren't allowed to bring the drink out to the stand/seats. Their seats are actually on the lower tier and there's a bar there as well.

Made the same mistake myself and it gave us all stomach cramps, utter piss it was! Won't make it again this time round :D

No im not,. I buy my ticket through ticketmaster for every game,. But I still expected to be given a seat in the stand in which I purchased a Montenegro ticket for and sat there, if not the same seat,. But a different stand in a different tier and stuck up in the corner, thats not right. I've been to every home game since Holland in '02 including friendlies, and I technically work for the FAI too, John Delaney is a gangster imo,.

My brother who was sitting next to me in the Hill for both the Italy and Montenegro games got his ticket today - sitting in the 302 section lower centenary. I think the change of seating has to do with how quick you got the stubs into the FAI after the Montenegro game for non-Block Bookers...

A price hike though of 20 euro which is crazy, last football match at Croker is having an effect along with the opposition in my opinion. Delaney is not a professional accountant for no reason.
