Never bought one before so haven't got a clue what to look for
Would €300 be enough for a decent one
If someone could pick us a decent one and where to buy i'd be very grateful
Cheers

Loads on Amazon.co.uk with reviews and they include free shipping now for orders over UKP25.

This sony with 60gb hard drive is inside your budget - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DCRSR37ES-Handycam-Camcorder-Built/dp/B001PGXA0K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1255081995&sr=1-3

Cakes if your buying one make sure it is a hard drive one then it is easier to put on your computer & burn copies far better than a tape or dvd one......

I bought the 40gb version of this last Christmas also from Amazon (they didn't ship to Ireland at the time so I had it sent to a friend in London) and I could definitely recommend it. Its really simple to use and the picture quality is superb.

A tip for you - If you do go for this one make sure you also get this carry case
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-LCS-X20-Handycam-Soft-Carry/dp/B0014SZKZW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1255101239&sr=8-1-catcorr
there is loads of space in it for cables/recharger pack and I can also fit my camera into this case.

And maybe a spare battery too
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-NP-FH50-Infolithium-Camcorder-Battery/dp/B000NJ0OHW/ref=pd_cp_ce_1

Camcorder, Carry Case & Spare Battery and you will still come in under budget.

Good luck!

Be prepared for your package to go missing and their customer service is not good. I had first hand experience when buying a camcorder there.

Thanks boys

Just ordered that Sony one with the case from Amazon and noticed their conversion rate was wrong.
Getting overcharged by €9 so i contacted them and they rang me back to confirm their mistake and would deduct it from the price. They also said all other orders in Euro will be reviewed and refunds issued where necessary.
If anyone here has ordered stuff and gets refunded the difference i drink any arl shite

Really?

They always gave me tracking numbers and I never had any problems.

Maybe their quality has gone down.
