    Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has been named Barclays Player of the Month for September with Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson taking the managers' prize.

    Torres scored five goals during the month - a double in a 3-2 win at West Ham and a hat-trick in the 6-1 thrashing of Hull last week.

    The Spaniard is currently the league's top goalscorer with eight this season and has scored 46 in 65 appearances in the competition since joining Liverpool in 2007.

    i'm sure the only thing on his mind is number 19 and the champions league..everything else is a bonus .. we all know who'll get the golden boot at the end of the season :)

    Fully deserved, and to think that most of the media said he needed a rest at the start of the month!!!!

    Hopefully they keep this up and Nando continues to prove 'em all wrong again this month, starting with a winner at Stamford Bridge!!!

    If we keep giving him a decent supply, he'll keep banging them in. Worth the admission fee to watch on his own!! Well deserved award, hope a few more of them head to Anfield this year!
