i cant get rid of a program on my computer..its anti virus pro 2010.
when i go to change/remove program, and press remove,it just opens up again.
it does the same when i go to the uninstall route. it is also opening up a dialog box every 30 secs or so,prompting me to buy the antivirus.
how do i get rid of it?
any help on this would be appreciated. cheers:).

What version of windows? I'm not familiar with the product but try disabling all features first if there is an options menu or right click on it's icon in the taskbar (beside clock).

I got one 2 days ago pretending to be Norton, wouldn't let me uninstall either, told me it was in use and it wasnt. Wouldnt even give me an option to close the pop up either.

I turned on avg to do a scan earlier then normal and the minute I did, the pop up said "Have encountered a problem" Too right it did, went straight to control panel and uninstalled it no bother

Have you got anti malware on your laptop?

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/

I had to put this one on one of the computers in work as one of the staff turned off the anti virus:rolleyes:

Once you have it downloaded, do a scan straight away.

    See how you get on

Had a the same program on mine a couple of weeks back. It won't let you uninstall it while its running. You'll have to delete the source file.

Press ctrl, alt, del and bring up task manager. Close the application if it comes up, it should. Then find where the offending file is on your computer, should be a single file called anti-virus pro in a folder, probably of a similar name (if theres a shortcut on your desktop right click on it and it'll tell you where the file is). Delete this file. Run a virus scan, avg or something like that and heal anything that comes up.

When you restart it should be gone. But run malware or spyware blaster and make sure its all clear.

    Just a word of warning.
I recently clicked on a link which was supposed to lead me to pics of Liverpool tattoos ( I think it was on a "Yahoo Answers" page) but instead Internet Explorer immediately closed down and then my laptop shutdown + restarted all by itself. I noticed a few small changes when it restarted so thinking I had a virus I ran a full scan with AVG. It found nothing but I was sure there was something wrong. I was advised to use BitDefender so I installed that, ran a scan and it found a keylogging virus:eek: I'd used AVG for years thinking I was safe but if I hadnt changed to BitDefender somebody would still be logging my passwords/credit card details.
I didnt download it legally so I cant post a link to it.

Ya it worked Bren, got rid of it after the scan.

Cant remember exactly the name of the virus, I know I remember the word "police" in it. will wreck my head, was a b**tard to get rid of until I ran the malware. Nothing else worked.

Took me nearly 2 hrs to finally get rid, after trying other things first
