From reading a lot of posts on the site this season, you would think Liverpool FC have the right to go out and hammer every team they come against. It does not matter about injuries, form of the opposition, ref decisions. No matter what, its a disaster if the don't win every match. The match thread and the old reliable threads are updated bashing the scapegoats. The standard or setup of opposition is irrelavant, the manager should have a perfect line up out every time to thwart their every threat. Mistakes or bad judgement are not allowed. Even if the win is secured, X, Y or Z miscontrolled the ball so he is brutal. I know a forum is for discussions, however some of the posts are so short sighted its beyond belief. Vorinin is shite, Babel is shite, Kuyt is shite, Lucas is shite, Aurelio is shite... blah blah. One bad peformance and all the old reliables are wheeled out. Well I am sure Rafa would love to have David Villa in there instead of Vorinin for the last 20 minutes, perhaps Alonso still in there instead of Lucas, however circumstance beyond his control mean that he had no money to bring in a top class striker and Alonso wanted to leave. Who should he have played last night instead out of the current squad? Rafa lines his team up in around 60 matches every season. I would say he get the tactics spot on in a large percentage. However there will be a certain amount of games where the team get outplayed or Rafa gets out thought by opposition manager (Like last night). The opposition played the reds of the park last night in first half. Insua is quality player and got caught out of position once or twice, so he should be dropped to resssies to listen to some people on here. Rafa picks his best 11 for each match, last night a lot of players did not play well, however the opposistion were just more eager, hungry and setup to win the match in the first half. People need to accept that there are two teams in every match and often (Not that often) things don't go to plan and the team lose. End of Rant!!!
I think people are just maybe abit frightened, i think every fan is really hoping that we win the league this year and if we have a below par peformance people get a bit worried, myself included
I agree with you for the most part but as a team that has ambitons to win trophies then we should expect to win every game. Obviously that is not going to happen but before every game we have to believe we are goin to win it and expect that we will get 3 points. However i definately agree with you on the point about of sayin X Y and Z are shite is just ridiculous and people probably do need to think before they post!
Totally agree. WE would all love to have 4 or 5 world class players for every position but it just aint possible. Every team has their off days, in fact probably has a few every season. We have a damm good team at the moment and hopefully we will be there or there abouts when it comes to handing out trophies at the end of the season, no reason why we shoudnt be either
Good post mate, and its nice to see some sense being spoke again.Just becasue we are liverpool it doesnt give us to right to go out and hammer 4-5 against any body...I think some of the liverpool fans need to get a grip of things and be more realistic.
Nice post. I think the issue is here people, inc. myself want perfection and demand results. Its hard to take any set back and emotions run high and some posts are written when results are fresh in the mind. It doesnt help with the media bashing or rivals winning too. Sure if we concede a corner and win the game 2-1, people blame zonal marking! I dont like the knee-jerk reactions about X, Y an Z being brutal unless they have being this way over a sustained period of time. I think Lucas & Insua are having a great seasons so far but one bad game for Insua and then people want him dropped We lost out to a better team last night due to the fact that tactics were off and the hunger wasnt there. One goal early in second half last night, and i think we would be on here commending a great comeback last night
Agree. Good Post. but i thinK that jesustorres is also true. you would like to think that the players go into every game expecting a win and i think that as fans of a club that is considered challangers we should expect the same. think you will always have the kneejerkers but i think Christmas is the first time you can really sit back and look at the season and say that the team is good/poor, players are or arent not dong the job.
excellent OP there. i generally tend to avoid the forums after a game nothing worse than a kneejerk reaction in fact irish kop should be shut off from kick off till the next morning
+1 great post i actually turned off the laptop the last after the hull game and last nights one. The forum seems to be a place to stay clear of after a game. The Hull games ended up with Babel is @@@@, if torres was on it would have been 10-1 etc etc, then babel scored two. Last nights result the finger pointed at lucas again and again and again. IF we lose at the chavs the rafa out brigade will be out in full force. If we win rafas a great manager and lucas did a super job of keeping lampard quiet (hopefully) There seems to be alot of negativity about surrounding certain players and these get the blame when ever we lose
Great post, We should expect to beat every team on any given day( although that will never happen). Its the standard that we and the club have set ourselves. But been realistic, everybody on here would take that result for three points at the bridge. Was getting towards the end and wondering why you called it 'two teams'.
All outlined above by most of the posters we should go into every game expecting a win, however when things go wrong, we have to remember there are two teams out there and no team is going to play well in every match. Some People's expectations are just not realistic.
