Nice for UK travel and purchases alright however in the long run it would be better for us all if it was heading the other way.
Will be partity between euro and pound shortly and it'll stay like that for longer this time. Good for going to games, disastrous for the country.
i took £100 out of the atm in liverpool on sat and it worked out at €110 i remember the days €100 got you £60
If you use your own bank over there, eg ulster Bank in ireland, Bank of scotland in england, you dont get charged for changing money and also you get their rate, where as if you use other banks you get charged for changing money.Just my experience. But this can only be good for going to games.
The big picture I think UK is our biggest customer for exports. With say an exchange rate of 1euro = 66p and ignoring commissions etc an Irish company selling 1000ukp worth of goods would get 1500euro for it. When the rate is up at 92p where it is today) the same goods would only equate to 1087euro approx. Big drop in income for an Irish company. This continuing for a long time = more layoffs = less paying tax = more social welfare = increased taxes for those still working = ....less trips to UK.
from a footballing point of view it going to make it more expensive to puchase players from europe and they will also deman bigger wages!!!
Just bought new motor in Scotland. Saved a bomb between exchange rate and lower prices compared to here
No recession round Cara St. Would you not support your local dealer like a certain RA Motors of Analore St
Lads I am getting married next June. I was thinking of changing some of my savings to sterling for a few months. Anyone have any opinions on this? Also anyone have any idea on what will happen should we vote yes/no next week? Cheers in advance.
Iv only been living here for a few weeks lads and its great its imagine how far the pound goes youd get 2 drinks with change for the same price in dublin..eating out is amazingly cheap too
