    Hi,

i posted a thread earlier re pennant and it was subsequently deleted...i further initiated a thread in this section to get some clarification...one poster claimed the article was from the NOTW...

I then posted the link i quoted from, which was the Irish Times...now that thread is deleted also...

I'm still none the wiser and received no clarification whatsoever as to the cause of the deletion...surely it is standard mod procedure to do so?

Thanks mate, I'd just like confirmation and perhaps a link to the redirected thread...i'm just one of those inquisitive types that likes to know the thought process behind a certain action...

understandably so,i think we all have a bit of that in us,the only reason i said something was i saw that pennant thread before you posted yours,so deduced it was deleted (or merged) for that reason, but i wouldnt worry too much though,it was only pennant, its not as if any of us ever took him seriously :D

Even though the article may have been in the times It takes its quotes from the sunday rag and thats who the interview seems to have been with.
Thats the reason the thread was deleted

If that was the case, i hold my hands up as i fully support that policy both personally and on this site. However it still would have been nice to get clarification...

This is the second thread in feedback i initiated, the first of which was deleted without my knowledge...This is the other point i'm trying to get across. I understand that being a moderator is a tough task, i did it myself on a large site but i feel that to simply give some sort of PM when deleting a thread would save a lot of bother and is not too unreasonable to ask...Even if it's something prepared and saved in the mod section it would be nice to know who took the action and why...

Though i looked up the Irish Times site, the source of my quote, i found that they made no reference at all to the sunday rag, which is the usual procedure when it takes many articles from the New York Times or Whashington Post...

I further looked for the source on the net and found no reference...I think it would be highly unlikely that the Times would plagiarize without having due
    regard to the author...

My actions at all times were bona fide...

I removed it - Joe if an article contains links or reference to the two papers in question the threads will be deleted, as per site rules, ant the article you posted from the times referenced the sunday s*N as the source, i suggest people ensure the stuff they post meets the guidelines set down , i and other mods do not have time to pm people all the time to tell them about the site rules, 5 threads yesterday with reference to the rag

This is my own personal view (other mods may feel different)- if someone cant be arsed looking at an article they post to make sure its not from said rags then i can not be arsed sending them a message, respect works both ways !

But it would be nice to be notified when your thread is deleted.
I had one deleted, and i asked a mod, he said that he deleted it and he said that he didn't expect me to know the reason as to why it was deleted.
I understand yere all bust, but maybe an auto mail or something, as 5 in one day is a lot.
