    I'm all for having stircter laws but this is taking it to far. Should they not have checked it was his daughter and that his wife was beside him before he was arrested. Crazy stuff.

    I would say that they are more likely to be openly affectionate with their kids in public than your average westerner. The issue here came down to the fact that he was white and his child is of mixed race, so people wrongly assumed the worst. If it was a brazilian man kissing a brazilian girl they wouldn't have batted an eyelid because it would be obvious to them that he was her dad. Crazy stuff.
