I just bought myself one of these off ebay. Its the Street Fighter 2 bundle with a copy of Super Mario Allstars (Super Mario bros. 1,2,3 & the lost levels) included aswell. I'm a massive gamer and love all the retro stuff ( i have a sega dreamcast which is class). I started playing video games in the mid 80's and used to go to the local chippy most nights to play double dragon, do you remember when you had to put your 10p down to secure next go. Anyway i bought this today because it was the same bundle that me and the brother were eagerly anticipating getting around 1992. We had our whole room covered in posters of SF 2 on the walls and ceiling and what did our mother get us a week before christmas day only the Super mario world bundle well she was made to bring it straight back and get the SF 2 bundle which only had one bloody controller. Any snes fans or even sega mega drive fans on here with similiar stories or a love of retro games?
My cousin had a amiga..Good i loved that.He used to have sensible soccer on it,the one where you can manage as well as playing.I used to love it...So my mam thought she was doing something good when she bought me the commadro 64.And i got Paper Boy(remeber the game where you threw papers at things while on a bike) and a few other games... Next for me was the sega mega drive..Which i got sonic with and a few other games..Loved the old stuff..
do you have a decent PC mate? I have Mame emmulator which has every single arcade game on your pc in full arcade glory.....i can give you a copy if you want it
i had a spectrum, atari st, snes, megadrive before the ps1, ps2, ps3, xbox, wii.....im addicted to games
sorry was meant to be emmulator...turns your pc into whatever old system you want....ye can get spectrum, commodore, snes, megadrive etc.....have them all....always mad into games
wow that sounds mad mate.So you could play like old games on your laptop like say street fighter or sonic...
lads mame has every single arcade game that was out....double dragon, street fighter, outrun, paperboy, robocop, KUNG FU MASTER! I have it here lads if yis want it i'll throw it on a dvd for yis. Looks exactly as it did in the arcade and you even hae to press the enter button to insert credits to play!!! best thing ever....
and do you just insert the disk into your computer and play away??? ive never heard off it hence all the questions..
just transfer it to your hard drive and run mame32.exe..brings up a menu and you just choose your game....check it out on the net....mame 32....its free but it takes ages to download the games (roms as there called) but i have around 400 downloaded over the years
I got a SNES for my bro as a present last year as it was the best times I remember growing up with him, we fought like nuts over it and broke joypads to beat the ban but good times, not sure he plays it, maybe I'll get a loan of it
Its my favourite game of all time mate, i'm gonna splash out for a decent copy of it when i have the money.
Basically it is a software application that runs all the old games. From what i remember you place a rom (that is the game) into a folder on your laptop/pc and mame recognises it and starts it up. The cool thing is roms are only like 2-3mb for the snes and megadrive games, so there are literally hundreds of them
had the commodore 64, man i hated it, remember you had to press run..shift...start... and press play on the tape deck and wait 30 mins for it to load up, and most of the time it would crash just before your about to play it, and as for the best arcade game of all time(80s) KUNG FU MASTER
oh god, spent the most part of a relationship watching her play mario on the super nintendo, and there's me thinking it was dead and buried ,made my day when mario got killed sinking into a pit of burning hot molten lava
All I can say is - Super Mario Kart. The SNES version still hasn't been beaten imo (particularly Battle Mode which is just excellent). A great great great game.
