Cant find a thread already and not sure if it should be posted here ? With both Lucas and Masch over the other side of the world and not back until late Friday night , there's a chance neither may not be ready to play v Burnley , but i suppose they might .. if both ready to play i would go with . Also a few other things to throw in the mill for team selection ,Aurelio looks like he is ready to play and Dossenna also looking for games also most have been away on international duty and Skrtel seems fit and will Kyrgiakos get the nod as its probably a ideal side for him to get more premier league experience under his belt ? Reina Glen Cara Skrtel Aurelio Masch Lucas Kuyt Gerrard Benayoun Torres if Masch and Lucas not back in time Reina Glen Cara Skrtel Insua Gerrard Aurelio Kuyt Benayoun Riera Torres
I think maybe only Mash or Lucas will start. Cant see Rafa starting the two of them after such long journeys but if Lucas doesnt play tonight then he'll play on Saturday. Dossena may start on the left side of midfield as Rafa isnt too impressed with Babel or Rieras attitude at the minute. It will be him or Yossi there. Who will he play in centre midfield though is the one if he doesnt start with both Lucas and Masch.I can see a few changes in the team as Rafa will want a fresh team after the internationals.
Riera's attitude seems fine , just pissed off he didn't play after the confederations cup when Torres did , nice to hear he wanted to play .His remarks about it were fine imo and he did say he respects Rafa decision but thought he was fine to play. Will be a tough 11 to guess this Saturday for sure.
i just have this feeling that our season starts for real on saturday. Liverpool 5-0 Burnley Torres(3) Gerrard Kuyt
god I hate bold predictions like that! Dont get me wrong, I'd love to see it but i'll defo take 1 nil right now. Points are points until we start moving through the gears
Masch aint back til Friday apparently so if Fabio thinks he's ready then I'd have him in the middle otherwise drop Stevie back (for one game only) with Yossi in behin d Torres and Riera on the left. As always,Id gladly take a 1-0 but hopefully this will be the performance and result we need to really get our season going. Last season Id be very worried about a frustrating 0-0 draw but Glen is the difference this year.Gives us a whole new attacking outlet.
Same here , always hate these twat them threads , always seems to back fire , most recent one was villa ... 3 points please
Burnley have already beaten 2 of the top 5 sides from last season .... need to take them seriously .... plus team selection for us is anyone's guess. But hope your right pal
Agree we need to take them seriously. That's always the case. But, when looking at how well Burnley have done so far you need to look at their home form v's away form. They're a completely different animal away from home. And hopefully that's set to continue... AWAY Stoke City Loss 0-2 HOME Man Utd Won 1-0 HOME Everton Won 1-0 AWAY Chelsea Loss 0-3
we want to win ye but we want to win with a bitta style i think and i think we will win with a bit of style.
In the stoke game their was a OG , if it had been 1-0 , stoke may have been caught out. With the Chelsea game Chelsea score their 1st goal in the 47 min . if its 0-0 at Anfield after 45 Min's the crowds anxious feeling does transfer onto the pitch. Early goal is the key imo for us.
i cant beleive its going to be so hot for it and all, gutted im not going!! 3 points will do however they come
I suppose its good that they like to come forward, if they do on Saturday it will make it easier for us
We wont underestimate Burnley, as they've already shown everyone they can play & win against the top teams. Albeit its at home, Burnley will still provide a tough challenge regardless of past results in away games for them so far. Breaking down blanket defences is osmething we've been working hard on in training, so hopefully they can transfer this to when it matters.. Saturday. Im expecting us to win, but not that comfortably.. it might take a late goal, but Ill go with 2-0.
