I had a search to see if i could find this but i found nothing..so theres a fella on the official forums who translates and posts Nemeths blogs..their really interesting reads good insight to the chap.this is his most recent entry after his AEK debut..if theres some demand ill hunt down a few more of them "These past few days were phenomenal. I arrived in Athens on monday night with my manager, I signed my contract on thuesday, on wednesday I trained for the first time with my new teammates, on thursday I cheered for them to progress in the Euro League and on sunday I gave the assist for the match winning goal on my debut. It was hard to leave Liverpool, but I knew I would play more here and of course Rafa Benitez advised me to do this. On my first day here I've discovered one similarity and one difference between the life in Liverpool and Athens. Everyone loves football here and the fans love the players, but it's 20 celsius hotter here, than in England. So, It's not just a coincidence that we train in the morning and in the late afternoon here. For example they came for me at 7:45am on thursday. But, I didn't train with the team, because they've had the second leg of their Euro League clash on that day. It was a hard fought win, at half time the other team was to go to the next round, but our argentine striker Blanco scored same goals and made it 3-0 for us. People went crazy in the stands, I haven't ever seen a thing like that. It was a great atmosphere at the Olimpic Stadium, I barely could sit the whole game. I was thinking about making my debut here. Our first League game was away on sunday. I was just hoping to be on the bench, because I've only trained once before that. To tell the truth I was in a good form, I've scored 2 in 4 minutes during my first training session. So, I was on the bench, and due to an injury I've came on after 30 minutes. Thankfully I've felt the rithm and I've made some good moves. In the second half I gave an assist and passed some nice balls to Blanco. It was a hard game, the home team was fighting very well and we were lucky not to concede. In the end I played as a right winger, and I was very tired due to the extremely hot weather. I don't know how the others cope with this, but it was like HELL after the cool weather of Liverpool. It was 35 celsius degrees. I just don't know how I've finished the game. There was a moment when I felt like melting away. I saw before my eyes that I disappeare and only my shirt remains on the pitch. The next thing in football must be air conditioned stadiums. I don't know how they solve it, but I will think hard about a solution. I think this will be the hardest thing to get used to. To tell the truth I have only positive experience here. Everybody is very nice in the dressing room and on the streets too. They talk about that I came from Liverpool and I'm starting to realise how a great honor it is, but It's a big expectation too. After this great start I'll have a big challenge here, because we have good strikers, ad I'll be away with the national team (U20) for a while now. I'm in Hungary now, and I'm looking foward to meet up with the team, and of course with my new national coach Sándor Egervári. He will be the 4th coach at the national team who I work with. With József Both and Tibor Sisa we had some great achievements, but with Wilco van Buuren we were poor. I really hope it will be a succesful era with Sándor Egervári."
There was a moment when I felt like melting away. I saw before my eyes that I disappeared and only my shirt remains on the pitch. Must be abig culture shock for the lad, glad he's doing well
Agreed - hopefully he will take the opportunity, gain some valuable experience & come back into our first team squad History works against him though as generally speaking when Rafa has loaned out players it has only been with a view to increasing their sell on price and no-one has really come back to feature for our first team Hoping that Nemeth bucks this thread
I've a bad feeling we're not gonna see him again I think he should be in our first team, I reckon he's ready and good enough. I'm sure Rafa had his reasons for sending him on loan. He's the manager after all and I'm not
I think he's got potential but don't think he's anywhere near ready for the first team to be honest. He is a great finisher but I actually think his lack of pace will be his downfall as most top strikers have this in their locker too Still young and hopefully he will return and have a bright future with us, however I fear it is more likely he does well but gets sold on, albeit for a decent profit
I think whatl happen if hes loan goes well hel be sold to them with a buyback clause..id be happier with that than losing him altogether..from reading hes other blogs like when he trained with the first team last year ya could see how much it really meant to him to be included in that pre season
Considering our striking back up is Voronin and N'gog that makes Nemeth the second best striker at the club behind Torres. Voronin is slow and crap and N'gog while he has pace doesnt look a natural finisher yet the ship off a natural finisher on loan. How can so many people who have seen Nemeth be wrong?
I agree, but just looking at what striking options we have on the bench at the moment I think he's in another league to Voronin and Ngog. Given the financial situation of the club, I think it would have been a good time to bring himself and Pacheco through together. I think together they're really something else and they'd really help to turn those draws into wins
To answer both, I wouldn't have Voronin anywhere near the squad as he simply isn't good enough & doesn't even look interested half the time, enough has been said about him already though. N'Gog I think will surprise a few people this year as I think he showed a lot of improvement in his appearances towards the end of last season, still not good enough to start but surprised he has not even been on the bench recently. Can only assume Rafa is thinking that 1) Nemeth isn't ready yet & 2) he would benefit more from playing at a higher level regularly than a game every 2 weeks for the reserves - rightly or wrongly Lint - couldn't agree more about Pacheco coming through though as despite his slight build and erratic decision making his game intelligence is light years ahead of most and now should be the time to stick him on the bench against teams who won't try to kick lumps out of him ....... I'd stick him on the bench against Burnley next week to be honest & he would be right up for it Much rather him coming on eager to prove himself if we're chasing a game than the likes of Voronin or Babel
