Would have been a great partnership against the stubborn teams we couldn't break down last season!! Alas, not to be!! How has he been written off. The point made was he isn't the same type of player as Xabi or as good and I think we all know that if we're honest. We will just have to change the shape if it doesn't work. I'm a bit fed up with this "Xabi chose to leave crap". He had a contract, we could have kept him, we decided not to!! True, he expressed a wish to leave which was not surprising given the chance to go home, avoid the crap weather, get away from muppet owners who won't spend any money, allied to the fact that we almost flogged him last year against his will. But, Liverpool F.C. decided to sell him - those yank fcuks probably led Rafa to believe he would have the money to spend and then reneged but we still decided to sell him.
I remember a certain striker who chose that same path 5 years ago to "further his career"................................what was he doing the following May while the heores of Istanbul were making history!
Can't wait to see Aquilani play. He has excellent potential, and not only such, but the capacity to be better than Alonso (particularly from a goal scoring perspective). I just hope that all the talk of poor/tough training sessions at Roma were true under the now gone Spalletti (even Riise commented on such). Maybe that's what Rafa saw and under a new training regime at Anfield we can hopefully keep him match fit. I know few Italians have made it in the Prem (a meaningless stat anyway), but I feel this guy could really be something else.
aquilani is right he is nothing like xabi he is 10 times better.his passing abilith is as good as xabi but aquilani like to get forward more and scores a lot more goals.xabi is a legand he helped bring number 5 home but we gotta move on.IN RAFA WE TRUST
i dont "KNOW" he isnt as good, he is young and will improve, he looks quality and if anything id say he is a better player now than xabi was when he came to us. give the lad a chance !!

Agree 100% mate .... Alonso is gone, best wishes to him .... now lets move on. With a bit of luck, the new lad will be top class and we'll soon be making up a new song about him etc. So lets be having the early entries now boys & girls ....
