I was wondering if anybody on here could help me find out the stats on the above match. I was at the match in Lansdowne Road and have the matchday programme but I am looking for the goalscorers and attendance. I know the match finished 3-1 to Liverpool and I was told that Terry Palmer scored the UCD goal but thats not 100 percent. Was anybody here at the match that might remember the goalscorers for Liverpool? I know its pushing on 15 years ago and all that!! If not would anybody know where I could find the match stats cause its not to be found on the internet I dont think! Any help would be much appreciated.
Brilliant thanks a million, I searched the net for that! Thanks again for your help. Just got to make sure it was Terry Palmer who scored for UCD and I am sorted. Thanks for your help.
I wonder if either of Fowler's were a penalty, if anybody was at this match and can remember please let me know thanks!
Packie Lynch scored for UCD - he was a neighbour of mine back in the day. Cracking free kick if I remember correctly....
Remember the game well, was an absolutely stinking night in Lansdowne, in the match programme the middle page was red with "failte Liverpool" written on it, everyone held them up as the team walked out, it was a sea of red. I remember after Packie Lynchs goal he whipped his shirt off and slid on his knees. Robbie got 2 lovely goals from play, while Jamie got a very close range tap in. It was my first ever Liverpool game, so happy memories!
I was at it and remember nothing coz i was so small i couldnt see. I think i was standing on a terrace? did they still have terraces then?
I was at that match too. Jason Sherlock was playing for UCD but nobody really knew who he was at the time. He made his debut for Dublin about 2 weeks later
Thats great thanks wasnt sure if Fowler may have scored a penalty. I keep stats of all the games I have been to like to keep it up to date and as u know there is always 1 u cant seem to find but thanks to all you here at irishkop I have it sorted now!
All I remember from that game is sitting in the lashing rain on the south terrace and how pi$$ed my aul man was for not spending an extra few quid to get in the East Stand. He blagged in at half time.
