With the transfer window closing soon I like every footballer check text and internet each morning in the hope of seeing my club linked with a transfer story. This however seems to have dried up at LFC. With the yanks in control there appears to be little chance of anyone else coming in! From the beginning of the summer we were linked with Silva, Villa and even Ribery! There were more recent stories of Shawcross, Turner and Catermole. None of these have come to anything and we have see so many going out and little coming in. With the yanks being reluctant to give out cash will this affect our position with bringing in loanees? There is some good business going on at other clubs with good seasoned internationals moving around on loan. We look very short on resources in the PL and if we mix that with the CL and the new rules on british players we are woefully short! Do you think Rafa is actually looking at bringing new faces in even if on loan or is it not a consideration? When you see Man City continually spending, Totteham openly admitting to still bringing in new faces and Aston Villa touting for some fresh faces it's worrying. That 4th place is wide open. Surely we could bring in a Robben or Van der Vaart in on loan? I think one quality addition such as these would really give us something different. It is worrying when you look at our bench against Spurs just how well we'll go in europe never mind the league. Surely Bentley would be a punt on a loan with a view to a permanent move in the summer. I think Spurs would do business and Real need to ship some out. Are we so broke it's not even a consideration or does Rafa think he has enough? It's depressing knowing that we spent £20mill on Aqualani and he's weeks from being fit, he may be too late by the time he finds his feet. Not one of Rafa's better moves in the market, although he has bought some stinkers for big money and sold for little.
I'd be lying if I said the thoughts of loanees hasn't crossed my mind. There might not even be money for wages there
babel is the only one i can think of to be fair - he HAS bought a lot of donkeys but most for less than 6m or else on frees. masch, alonso, kuyt, torres, reina (expensive for a keeper at nearly 7m but a real bargain) have at least kept or increased in value...have never really watched aqualini play so i'm reserving judgement til then
gudjohnsen for me would be perfect - and is willing to go out on loan and barca are ok with it too apparently - he's bloody pele compared to voronin
Im on the fence with him, my head says yes but my heart says no (for what he did in the CL semi's). He mightnt go on loan to be on the bench aswell though.
id say try take benjani off man citys hands either on loan or small fee paid in a year , the lad wont get a look in at city and has not become a bad player over night , even the turkish lad off the middles,, tuncay ,

Lads there has to be a few loan options out there which we could look at exploiting. We have alot of good relationships with clubs so the only problem i see is the wages.Maybe Rafa just doest have the money to pay these players.
