http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/aug/19/liverpool-fernando-torres-rafael-benitez He only seems to have this problem when he's a bit short of match fitness and frustration gets the better of him. Fair play to Rafa for trying to put him straight
rafa wants him concentrating on goals and nothing else,if you get kicked get on with it and score a few then kick them back
there was a thread about this last week about torres falling quite easily when tackled and the original posted got lashed out of it, interesting that rafa has the same opinion here it is http://84.51.233.73/forums/showthread.php?t=10844
think the poster that time was on about Torres diving whereas I think Rafa means he getting affected mentally by players giving him a kicking
going over easy after been tackled/kicked much to the same point really, going over easy/needs to be stronger thats how i took it up
If he's scoring goals he's scoring goals, and if he wants to fall over so be it, but he needs to learn to take the abuse and the kicks, because the refs wont do a thing about it until he kicks back.
I'm surprised Rafa felt this needed to be said publicly tbh. Hoping for as many goals as kicks for him tonight!!
Load of bollox. His attitude is spot on.Huddlestone the snide twat gave him a sneaky stamp and nando had a go right back.Who wouldnt?1 isolated incident being blown out of proportion just for a change.
That's true. I for one love to see him stand up for himself. That lad takes no shit from anyone. Rafa'a probably worried it takes Nando's mind off the game
I think he is letting the ref's know that Torres is getting a hard deal to be honest and trying to get the refs back on Torres's side
It could also have been to get Nando fired up for the next game... And low and behold, he finds the net after 4 minutes. Rafa really is a crap manager...
Anyone remember that game when Bikey was kicking lumps out of Torres for the entire 90 minutes and Torres never reacted.........well except to score a hat-trick against them that is!! Always thought that he was better when he was wound up and put his effort into the football rather than chasing refs, hopefully he gets on with this from now on and hurts teams where it hurts!!
To be honest with you thats when I knew beyond doubt Torres was the real deal for us - two big strong black lads knocked the f##k out of him that night and he laughed in their face and scored a hat-trick. What a man
The one player i would never question as regards passion, pride and focus for the club is Torres,he loves the pool and always gives everything,i think his biggest fear is getting injured and not being able to help us to the title,i think this causes him to pull out of some tackles.
