Martin Skrtel should return to action 'within two weeks', according to the Liverpool defender's agent. Skrtel sustained a jaw injury in the 2-1 loss at Tottenham on Sunday after colliding with Reds team-mate Jamie Carragher. The Slovakia international did not complete the 90 minutes versus Spurs and is now set for a period on the sidelines. Skrtel's agent, Karol Csonto, told SITA: "It [the jaw] is not broken, just heavily cracked. "According to the doctors, Martin should be back in action within two weeks and he should be wearing a special mask. "I hope that they will find or create a new one for him." Skrtel is keen to be available for Slovakia's World Cup qualifier versus Czech Republic on 5th September. Csonto added: "He is not admitting the possibility of not playing in that game." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5497931,00.html dont see anything on official site tho
Not good news, just hope Ayala can fill void if needed as looked decent on Sun. Hopefully Stoke or Villa wont pose too much defensive headaches
Kelly looks more of tank and for this game espeically I would start him instead possibly instead of Ayala.
Who is better in the air of Ayala and Kelly because that will be needed against Villa with Heskey and Carew playing for them.
i'd put johnson in the centre with carra and play kelly full back.big ask to stick ayala in on beattie, fuller or kitson.
stoke wont pose much threat 4 us i dont think... our biggest problem is gettin through them since last season when they came 2 anfield all they did was defend...
On .tv rafa said in his pre match press confernce that skrtel might be play and he'll make a late call on how skrtel is so hopefully he'll play
Beattie and Fueller could be a handfull. Depends on their approach. I hope they got 4-4-2 but suspect they will park the bus.
Rafa Benitez will make a late decision on the fitness of centre-back Martin Skrtel ahead of Stoke City's visit to Anfield on Wednesday. The Slovakia international was substituted in the second half of our 2-1 defeat to Tottenham after an earlier clash of heads with Jamie Carragher. Benitez told reporters at his pre-match press conference: "We have to wait. Daniel Agger will be out for at least two or three more weeks. Skrtel was training this morning and we will decide tomorrow. Carra is okay."
