Does anyone here play Texas Hold 'em online?
i set up a SkyPoker account yesterday, some great tournaments on it for small buy ins. Very straight forward to play too.
Anyone looking to join let me know and i can recommend you, this will give both of us a free £25 bet apparently.

Glad to hear it I work for full tilt! We're not allowed play on the site tho :-( SO usually play on Paddy Powers. I find them the best for deals and bonuses etc. Just like the betting side of their operation ...
i play on pokerstars...and boyles. i prefer stars though.

I am using that years, comes in very handy.
Play a good bit on pokerstars ... for anyone who is relatively new to the game and plays relatively tight you should check out the Double or nothings sit and go's .... $10 - 10 man table - top 5 double their money.
I find after a bad run in tourneys I start to lose faith/patience so switch back to these to try get the funds back up again. Played them for a week or so there, a few each night, cashed out $200 last night ... and I'm far from a shark !

Yes a good few, mostly the local games in the Fitz and other Dublin card clubs nothing major yet but still if I added it up it would be a nice little sum.
The first tournament I ever won was the 50 euro Double chance in the Fitz,I was over the moon.

I have never used them so could not really comment, the info is out there to make you a better player without having to pay for it.What I always tell lads to do is play for a while find out what style suites you and then go looking for info on that style. In saying that never get committed to one style as you have to be compliant in playing loads of different ways as each situation dictates. One for sure is you make the most when playing in the opposite to the image you give off at the tables.

Might sign up and have a look at these.
I take it when there are 5 people left, some of the players just go all in on any hands as they aren't going to win any more money?

Thats grand so you dont waste any time playing for nothing.
What stakes do you tend to play at?
Do you find people tend to play a bit tighter than say in a normal sit n go?

Yeah its grand, and it generally only last around 40 mins or so ... play $10 and $20 ... you find people start to play alot tighter the closer it gets to the bubble but thats almost always the case in any game I think.
I think they are pretty decent if you only maybe fancy playing an hour or two ... if you have been playing other sit and go's around that level of stake you'll find you could be sitting 3/4 hrs to get to top 50.
What do you play at the min ?

I just play 6 seater $5 sit n go, dont have the patience for 10 seater, but if it pays first 5 - Im sure I would.
Making profit on it so was going to push up to $10 soon.

Play the same tables $5 on pp myself normally, has been profitable for the last while anyway.
A nice trick is keep re-registering under a new email addy and username every 90 days so you can play the beginner tables same stakes, some of the play can be easier to read imo.
Also PP do those double up tables I'm sure aswell, top 5 get double their moneys.

Yeh just had a look there and seen that PP have the double up tables, but form just looking there it only seems to be Turbo games. Have never really played turbo games - I think it is just the blinds go up quicker or something?
Is there much of a difference?

The blinds go up every 5 minutes instead of 10 minutes or something like that. I suppose it depends what type of a player you are to which you prefer. I am quite patient so prefer the non-turbo games personally. The turbo may suit more for the double up games 'cos you can sit back a lot and let other guys take each other out with all ins etc.
Whats your username on pp, I'll look out for you? Im carrafowler23 just incase you want to take my money.

Yeh just reading a bit about Turbo's, it seems a bit loser and a bit more luck possibly with people going all in a lot more.
My name on PP is GillersSteven, still relatively new but playing a fair few hands the last week or so.

Dont play real oney myself as im only 17,Im on Full tilt and i just play play money and freeroll's.the irish freeroll is well worht it,bout 300 people start and top 18 get paid. The field is usually halfed after the first half hour so its easy enough to make money from it.I know its no good but i like playing in them cos i cant play real money yet.Handy way to make money if i get a bit from freerolls and work my way up.
PLay real moneyz on irish eyes aswell but i dont find it anygood at all,iv sorta given up on it as iv had a few weird beats on it.

I have been playing on PP and a lot of people give out about the bad beats on it(I agree to an extent), well I have started to play Pokerstars and from the few games I have played so far - its been worse.
Way too many straights and flushes on it too.

The game is setup on Pokerstars, its going to be at 21:30 (which is 16:30 on stars clock)tomorrow night and the buy in is $10 (I picked 10 as there was no $15 option),the password is onthekop and you can register now.You can find the game in the Tourney section under Private games.
I think the best thing to do so we can get this of the ground is to post it on a few sites ontill we get the numbers just from here,so feel free to post this info on other LFC sites.
