You'd need a hd tv mate.ive a blue ray player and a normal tv and the quality is just the same but when you hook it up to a hd tv the difference is certainlty noticable.
Dont worry mate, your not the only one..Id love to have the money to buy a big HD TV but unfortuntely i dont have it..But the HDTV makes a huge difference to Games and Blu Ray films..
iknow the feeling i have a ps3 and have only ever played it on a standard tv and its just like playing a ps2
Hi Putting money aside for a moment (given Im partial to putting the visa card on the counter a bit too quick sometimes) ... I've resisted the temptation to get a BlueRay / PS3 (which I think is generally acknowledged as a very good Blue Ray player btw) ... While the HDTV standard is no doubt going to be the way forward: * I'm convinced we are not far away from buying movies via the internet with a simple download required, much like iTunes etc already do for music & as such, we'll just have started to build up collections of BlueRay DVDs when they become part of history * Even TV stations are slow to evolve into HDTV format. If you take the likes of whats available on Sky, I think there's only about 10-15 stations (all duplicates) broadcasting in HD at present & I suspect much of the programming they show (say movies for example) are a few years old and not even recorded in HD format, so not quite the real deal. If anything, try and save a few quid for the Christmas sales and chances are you'll be able to pick up a half decent HDTV at a reasonable price for yourselves. As for the BlueRay, I don't think it needs to go on the Christmas list myself, unless you've spare cash (or credit card capacity that you can repay etc)
