No longer sponsored by the rag. Might watch a bit of it this season. Avoided it last season for that reason.

    Ossie Ardlies on this morning.

Not that great anymore imo. I still watch bits of it but since lovejoy & fenners left it went downhill & it has the same bloody guests on it every year like Razor Ruddock, Ralph Little & members of Goldie Lookin Chain.

I agree. If the moneys right maybe Somali Pirates could sponsor us or maybe Al Qadea have some spare cash or at a stretch our finances being what they are and all, maybe the rag could throw us a few quid. Its only money after all.

Get a grip lad, telling someone they are going a bit far for avoiding anything to do with that rag,if someone chooses not to have anything to do with something that is sponsored by them its thier choice, you choose to watch it thats your choice but do not talk rubbish about people who chose not to for a valid reason, anyway back to the programme itself shitty programmes in my eyes and embarrasing also

easey easy easy, who are yer

Only watched it in bits and pieces last few years if was a loose end in the morning. Flicked on past it last year because it was sponsored by them.

Will tune in this season if they have any Liverpool related quests apart from Ruddock

I know you have just joined recently and may not know the extent of the hatred we have for it. Don't know what age you are or what you have learned over the years. Please go through this thread if you haven't already.

I am not getting at you here but what you have to realise is that everything it attaches it's name to regardless of association is another way it is advertising what it stands for. Only by this continued stance against the paper can we make sure that what they did will never be forgotten. If we all don't take a stand against it in whatever way we can then they will have won and what they did will eventually be forgotten by younger generations. We will never allow that to happen.

some people are clueless! don't buy the sun!!! dont support the sun, how hard can it be.People here and on Merseyside have strong feelings about that rag, respect them.

As far as that show goes that blonde is starting to look her age, dancing & looking like a middle aged woman now, cutting your hair, first sign of surrender.

Well Midg23 is obviously aware of the hatred for them. He referred to it in his brief comment.Such a patronising reply from the mod. We all never buy the paper in question but avoiding one of the best football programmes on tv because of it sponsoring it is ridiculous imo

Drop the holier than thou attitude, you will find the majority of people will swerve anything to do with this rag, you choose what you do and thats your choice, but dont start calling other peoples strong beliefs "ridiculous" as that is totally out of order

As for it been one of the "best football programmes" on tv - again thats your opinion but to me its one of the worst most emarrasing programmes on tv and is typical of the things that are wrong with football today !

I don;t view the response given as patronising in the least. In fact it was informative if anything and just pointed the user towards an informative thread in case they wanted a read through it.

And someone avoiding the programme, should they choose to, is anything but ridiculous imo. In fact they should be applauded for sticking to their beliefs.

My reply was anything but patronising. As I said the lad joined in May.I don't know how old he is or if he has read the thread or not.
Can't believe you think that avoiding anything that promotes it is ridiculous.

    Exactly!!

By the way, whoever said it's "one of the best football programmes on TV"... My God, it might just about be the worst of the lot. Cheap and thrashy!

Ur reply seemed to suggest that he only said what he said because he was not aware of the hated liverpool fans hav for the paper. What does it matter what age he is or if he has read the thread or not because he he referred to it in his post so obviously knows about it. Can u really not see how it was patronising? Come on.
I said avoiding a programme u like watching because of who decided to sponsor it for a short period is like cutting off your nose to spite your face imo. If they decided to sponsor motd wud u stop watchin that too?

Used to watch soccer am but stopped when lovejoy left and it went downhill big time.

As for not watching it because the s*n sponsored the programme well thats fair enough, makes sense to me. But thats just my opinion...

Large number of our fans do not know or choose to ignore it (not saying is midg is). All you have you to do is go to any game and see the amount of fans reading it at the airport. Others who are new to the forum and/or are younger members are not aware of the ban and it's significance. You might be and that is fine and you choose to support whatever you like.you know the facts and you don't see any problem with it?
Reason I mentioned the age is obvious and no I would not watch MOTD if they were sponsored by the rag.
so if you liked the rag and you didn't buy it because of your principles then you are cutting off your nose. Don't think so.
Read this thread and see the depth of feeling.
    http://www.irishkop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4819&highlight=carlsberg
This shows what people can do if they stand up for what they believe in and don't accept everything they see.
I personally would not purchase, watch, read look at anything that is endorsed or sponsored by that rag. Carlsberg saw the error and backtracked.
There are alternatives to every product and if enough people let programmes, products etc that they will lose their support and business if they are associated with the rag then less will want to do business with them.
But on the other hand if we all just say fcuk it and take the attitude that "I'm alright Jack" then they get away with everything they wrote and did to the 96 and their families.
Well you can buy and watch what you want but I will never lower myself to do so and will never forget what they did and I will never allow anybody else to forget either.

The Carlsberg/S*n thread that Martin pointed out there is a good example of what Reds can do when they pull together for a common good, instead of just accepting shit. Also the way they worked to get that twat Cohen kicked off the Radio programme is another good example. So if people choose to boycott a show that's sponsored by the S*n an encourage others to do likewise then fair play to them I say.
