No longer sponsored by the rag. Might watch a bit of it this season. Avoided it last season for that reason.

Not that great anymore imo. I still watch bits of it but since lovejoy & fenners left it went downhill & it has the same bloody guests on it every year like Razor Ruddock, Ralph Little & members of Goldie Lookin Chain.

I agree. If the moneys right maybe Somali Pirates could sponsor us or maybe Al Qadea have some spare cash or at a stretch our finances being what they are and all, maybe the rag could throw us a few quid. Its only money after all.

Get a grip lad, telling someone they are going a bit far for avoiding anything to do with that rag,if someone chooses not to have anything to do with something that is sponsored by them its thier choice, you choose to watch it thats your choice but do not talk rubbish about people who chose not to for a valid reason, anyway back to the programme itself shitty programmes in my eyes and embarrasing also

Will tune in this season if they have any Liverpool related quests apart from Ruddock :o

I know you have just joined recently and may not know the extent of the hatred we have for it. Don't know what age you are or what you have learned over the years. Please go through this thread if you haven't already.

I am not getting at you here but what you have to realise is that everything it attaches it's name to regardless of association is another way it is advertising what it stands for. Only by this continued stance against the paper can we make sure that what they did will never be forgotten. If we all don't take a stand against it in whatever way we can then they will have won and what they did will eventually be forgotten by younger generations. We will never allow that to happen.

Well Midg23 is obviously aware of the hatred for them. He referred to it in his brief comment.Such a patronising reply from the mod. We all never buy the paper in question but avoiding one of the best football programmes on tv because of it sponsoring it is ridiculous imo

Drop the holier than thou attitude, you will find the majority of people will swerve anything to do with this rag, you choose what you do and thats your choice, but dont start calling other peoples strong beliefs "ridiculous" as that is totally out of order
As for it been one of the "best football programmes" on tv - again thats your opinion but to me its one of the worst most emarrasing programmes on tv and is typical of the things that are wrong with football today !
Well Midg23 is obviously aware of the hatred for them. He referred to it in his brief comment.Such a patronising reply from the mod. We all never buy the paper in question but avoiding one of the best football programmes on tv because of it sponsoring it is ridiculous imo
I don;t view the response given as patronising in the least. In fact it was informative if anything and just pointed the user towards an informative thread in case they wanted a read through it.
And someone avoiding the programme, should they choose to, is anything but ridiculous imo. In fact they should be applauded for sticking to their beliefs.

Ur reply seemed to suggest that he only said what he said because he was not aware of the hated liverpool fans hav for the paper. What does it matter what age he is or if he has read the thread or not because he he referred to it in his post so obviously knows about it. Can u really not see how it was patronising? Come on.
I said avoiding a programme u like watching because of who decided to sponsor it for a short period is like cutting off your nose to spite your face imo. If they decided to sponsor motd wud u stop watchin that too?

Large number of our fans do not know or choose to ignore it (not saying is midg is). All you have you to do is go to any game and see the amount of fans reading it at the airport. Others who are new to the forum and/or are younger members are not aware of the ban and it's significance. You might be and that is fine and you choose to support whatever you like.you know the facts and you don't see any problem with it?
Reason I mentioned the age is obvious and no I would not watch MOTD if they were sponsored by the rag.
so if you liked the rag and you didn't buy it because of your principles then you are cutting off your nose. Don't think so.
Read this thread and see the depth of feeling.

This shows what people can do if they stand up for what they believe in and don't accept everything they see.
I personally would not purchase, watch, read look at anything that is endorsed or sponsored by that rag. Carlsberg saw the error and backtracked.
There are alternatives to every product and if enough people let programmes, products etc that they will lose their support and business if they are associated with the rag then less will want to do business with them.
But on the other hand if we all just say fcuk it and take the attitude that "I'm alright Jack" then they get away with everything they wrote and did to the 96 and their families.
Well you can buy and watch what you want but I will never lower myself to do so and will never forget what they did and I will never allow anybody else to forget either.

The Carlsberg/S*n thread that Martin pointed out there is a good example of what Reds can do when they pull together for a common good, instead of just accepting shit. Also the way they worked to get that twat Cohen kicked off the Radio programme is another good example. So if people choose to boycott a show that's sponsored by the S*n an encourage others to do likewise then fair play to them I say.

Ya im well aware of the facts and of what went on. Listen why did the sun sponsor soccer am:
Advertising------->to promote themselves to soccer am watchers so hopefuly they wil buy the paper and/or continue to buy it.
Again slightly patronising..........I don't see how watchin a programme I enjoy and have always watched is "supporting" their sponsors, or "lowering myself".
Is watching it going to make me change my opinion of the paper------>Of course not, I will never buy it and hate them for what they did
Is watching it going to make me forget what happened------->Again, of couse not!
Also, comparing motd to the paper is hardly a fair comparison. Most people would agree motd is the best highlights programme whereas is the sun the best paper around? Hardly.
Buts that enough, I don't want to get into a slagging match over it. We obviously disagree on this but we should just agree to disagree on this and ill respect ur stance on it.

A couple of years ago maybe, before she won that poker thing and became so far up her snatch she could smell her own teeth. Soccer AM was a good laugh five or six years ago, but Lovejoy could see it had lost it's edge as did sheephead, fenners and co. so fooked off before it became an embarrassment to television which it most definately has. As for the rag sponsoring that shit it's another reason not to watch or support that absolute crap. Someone asked 'would anyone watch motd if it was sponsored by the used bog roll scum paper' well my answer to that would be absolutely not, never, ever, ever and I would be berating any red mates to do the same. I feel I wouldn't be alone on this.

Ok im 21 and have read the thread before this was posted.
Just because the rag sponsor it doesnt mean that it shouldnt watch it, BSKYB dont look at the ratings and say, "only so many people watched it and those that didnt were liverpool supporters for sure" lets not get the rag to sponsor us next season"
Im all for a boycott of the rag and i for one dont buy and/or read it but JUST because it sponsors Soccer AM doesn't mean we should stop watching it, because both the Rag and Sky dont know who's or what supporters are watching it, and by Boycotting it, realistically the only people that know you are not watching it for that reason is yourself and the people who you tell on the forums.
Sorry if i came across as condoning the Rag in my first post also, thats the last thing id do.
Soccer AM is shite for 2 and a half hours, all thats good is Showboat, crossbar challenge, skill skool and when they go outside
And no i wouldnt throw one into Helen either:)

Thats why you e-mail or write to SKY and register your reason for not watching their programme. If enough people did that, their marketing/sales department would have to sit up and aknowledge that there is a problem with the current sponsor.

Obviously we dont read, buy or promote the rag in any way, but if you dont watch a show sponsored by it, do you also:
not watch any channel that occasionally advertises it,
not go into any shop that stocks it,
not watch any channels or read publications that come under the Murdoch banner?
Im not having a go at anyone but as long as we do the basics, I think its up to each fan where they draw the line.
