Last season, My whole family were in it, and I was picking teams for them, and i tried to get rid of the smaller teams when i could, so when i seen West Brom v Newcastle, i said here we go, and told my Ma to go in with the choice of West Brom for all of us, so when West Brom won 3-1, i was jumping around, and my Ma said whats your problem Chelsea didn't win, instead of doing West Brom, my Da told her that West Brom wont win but Chelsea will definitely beat Hull, and surprise surprise it was a 0-0 draw, I was gutted to say the least.
I got knocked out by Pompey, gutted, they drew 2-2 with West Brom think it was...went 2-0 down and came back to give me false hope
Would it not be a better tactic to go for some of the smaller teams who have a decent chance of winning at the start of these competitions? I might be way off, but my thinking is your leaving yourself open to a hiding to nothing if you choose big teams at the start cos when it comes to the business end of these things you'll find that all your left to choose is backing between Burnley away to Liverpool or Stoke away to the mancs, neither of which are likely to suceed.
I do this 3 or 4 time a season with my club. Ive won it 4 times over the last 3 years, it usually goes 8 or 9 games altough with PP it would probably be longer. My tactics would usually be use your strongest teams 1st while keeping 1 of the big 4 aside until week 7 or 8. There is nothing worse than going out knowing you still have the big boys in hand.
ha ha Went to sign up for this and could not remember my password as not used pp account in nearly a year. Turns out there is 166 euro in it. Won a bet on Liverpool e/w in the league at end of last season that I put on last summer. I had forgotten all about it. That has made my weekend Went for Stoke
They have a couple of other ones running this weekend. If you bet on a match that finishes 0-0 you get your bet refunded. Also if you place 4 €10 bets this month you get a choice of a free Arsenal, Everton or Leeds jersey Not much use to us but could make an xmas present for somebody.
The first one can be found on the Paddy Power site and the second can be done by signing up for a PP account using one of those clubs website. Once you have placed the 4 bets you will get an email asking for your delivery address, size etc.You have until 28th Aug to sign up for a new account and until 14th September to place the 4 €10 bets to get the jersey. As I said its of no interest to me but might make a nice gift for a poor gooner or bluenose!
