tough game to begin with though.Spurs had a good 3-0 win against Olympiakos over the weekend and our pre-season form hasn't been great at all.always a tough game at WHL.

    Any predictions for the game?

I think the time flew thank god, the worst thing about waiting was the bloody ashes, a total & utter over rated pile of crap.

One of the worst possible games we could have got to start with, esp with the problems with injuries at the back.

Spurs are unpredictable, you just don't know what they are going to come up with. Modric, Lennon, Bentley, Defoe, Keane, Crouch, Paulychenko.

One thing though is they have big problems at the back. The goal keeper is dodge, their full backs are rubbish and they have big problems with injuries at centre back. Tom 'Artic Lorry' Huddlestone could even start at CB.

3-2 to reds with a Torres Hatrick:):)

i know it sounds obvious but if you want to win the league these are the tough away games that you have to win,

we lost twice in the league last season and this fixture was one of them, i remember the game well and we battered them for most part of it and they got two late goals to snatch the 3 points

nothing to fear we are are a better team, we just have to show it on the pitch come sunday

Not an Ideal start away to Spurs! Think it will be a tough close game that we will edge! 2-1 Liverpool and definately a goal in it for Nando!!!

spurs under redknapp are no pushovers - i'm not sure but i think they got points off us and the mancs there last year, and maybe the chavs too altho i cant remember. obviously i hope we win etc but i still feel we're about a week to 10 days off full match fitness and a little suspect in defence. i think the confed cup and the whole alonso saga may be the reason but i dont think we're quite there yet

They beat Chelsea 1-0, drew 0-0 with United and fluked 3 points against Liverpool. They had a good result in their final pre-season game so will be fired up. Much will depend on which central defenders start, if Carra and Agger are there then I think we'll be OK. If not, then a few goals might be needed to win this one.

Not overly confident going into this one but we did look much better against Atletico and deserved more than the solitary goal we got. Think we will concede but we'll also score, hopefully more than they do...!

I dont think Spurs will score. 1 goal will be enough to win this one but I think think we'll score 2 :)

much depends on whether Skirts or Agger are fit to play.If so then we should at least get a draw but our pre-season form has been worrying but Im hoping we'll step it up a few notches once the real business starts this weekend.I think Spurs have even worse injury problems than us in central defence so there could be a few goals there for Nando and Stevie on Sunday!

Have a feeling keane and crouch will start up front for them which will be interesting. As people have said if carra and skrtel/agger are fit then that won't be a problem. I do feel that their weakness at the back will mean we'll win it but it won't be the easiest game we'll play this season. 2-1 Liverpool.

I don't really think we'll lose this game because of our defence, the game is going to be lost only if Masch and Lucas can't keep on top in the middle. If we give them easy ball in the middle of the park consistently they will score goals no matter who is in defence. If the two in the middle can find some rythm and support each other the way Masch and Xabi used to i think we should be able to pick them off easy enough.

They way they usually defend you can guarantee that Torres and Stevie are going to have numerous chances, hopefully they can take them!!

WHL saw more goals than any other ground last year, and with both teams struggling to find two fit centre-backs, I think goals are pretty much guaranteed here.

Spurs haven't quite made the usual wholesale changes, so they should be more settled. We should still have enough for them though.

God,the butterflies are starting again.Just reading this thread has me jittery. We have to win the 1st six games. If we`re still up with ManUre and Chelski after the 1st six games I`ll be very happy.
Spurs away for the 1st game is a tricky one.
Keane and Crouch have points to prove and the press will be up `arry`s hole.
An early goal for us,calm the nerves and go on to win 2-0 will do for me.
    Slightly confident but still nervous.

Hardest opening fixture of the big four. Didnt have a good pre season and have major problems at the back but in saying that nando and stevie are fit and that always gives us a good chance of winning. 2-1 id say
