AC Milan have turned down an offer of £7million and Claudio Pizarro from Chelsea for Italian international midfielder Andrea Pirlo.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said the bid from the English Premier League side, now coached by former Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti, was 'unsatisfactory'.

'The offer of £7 million plus Claudio Pizarro is not satisfactory...under these conditions Pirlo is not for sale,' Galliani told Sky Sport Italia.

It now remains to be seen if Chelsea come back with an improved bid to tempt Milan into selling the experienced Italian.

If that is for real, 7 million and pizzaro. We should move there, 10-12million max. His wages would be massive though I think. He could replace Xabi IMO, though age is against him and there would be money to spend elsewhere. I assume Chelsea would out muscles us though

He's a quality player but too old to adapt to the premier league.Even if he was 5 years younger I'd have my doubts about his ability to cope in England. He's got great technique but needs too much time on the ball to be effective-something he wont be given in the premier league.

    Babelfish translation.

" More I cannot hacer". It is the moan of Xabi Alonso, that sees how they spend the days and their situation, far from be solved, is entangled more and more. The midfield player has done everything what is in its hand to play in Real Madrid, but at the moment has been no reward to his effort to dress target. The player feels like a victim of the cold war that maintains Real Madrid and Liverpool with the price of their crossing. A situation that it has to him especially annoying with both clubs. To the Liverpool it throws to him in face that the past year it appraised to him in 20 million and now it requests the double to him to Real Madrid. Of the white set a effort throws in lack that compensates the one that he has made to leave Anfield. MARK the past kept awake Thursday the decision of the player to ask for in writing the Liverpool that lets to him leave. The player, expressing the diplomatic channels, take refook in the well-known like transfer request, a formal request in which the express soccer player of formal way his desire to go away and that the club has the moral obligation to respect. A step more to the front of Xabi Alonso that allowed to unblock the situation and to obtain that both clubs returned to put themselves in contact. Summit with Purslow But he has not been the unique one. Little people know that the player interrupted his vacations to meet in London with Purslow, the new executive director of the Liverpool, and to look for a solution. Previously, the player maintained infinity of char them with Benítez to unblock the operation. A series of efforts that, at the moment, have not served to solve their march to him to Madrid. It dreams about making the airlift With face of few friendly Xabi Alonso in the hotel of Barcelona appeared where the Liverpool was concentrate, that disputes a friendly one before the Espanyol. Xabi is conscious that his signing by Madrid is not going to be simple, but even so dreams whereupon the white club and the Liverpool reach an agreement in the next hours. The means would be enchanted with the possibility of traveling to Madrid from Barcelona, but it seems improbable

If Xabi does go, and it looks likely, I would rather we sign an expierenced player like Pirlo than more 19 year olds with potential. We should have won #19 last season and this year is another golden opportunity. I think Pirlo would do a job for one season maybe two similar to what Gary Mac did. Pirlo is not quick but like Xabi and all great players the first five yards is in your head.

A few media outlets are mentioning this quote from his new book.
Pirlo talks about the 2005 CL final,He is still stunned by it all :)

"I’ll never fully shake that sense of absolute impotence when destiny is at work. The feeling will cling to my feet forever, trying to pull me down…

There are always lessons to be found in the darkest moments. It’s a moral obligation to dig deep and find that little glimmer of hope or pearl of wisdom. You might hit upon an elegant phrase that stays with you and makes the journey that little bit less bitter. I’ve tried with Istanbul and haven’t managed to get beyond these words: for F uck’s sake.

    Ouchy!!

    ***

On that Champions League Final in Istanbul against Liverpool: “It’s an enemy that I can’t allow to wound me a second time. It’s already done enough damage: most of it hidden far from the surface.
“I’ll never watch that match again. I’ve already played it once in person and many other times in my head, searching for an explanation that perhaps doesn’t even exist.
“It was suggested we hang a black funeral pall as a permanent reminder on the walls of Milanello, right next to the images of triumph. A message to future generations that feeling invincible is the first step on the path to the point of no return.
“Personally, I’d add that horrendous result to the club’s honours board. I’d write it slap bang in the middle of the list of leagues and cups they’ve won, in a different coloured ink and perhaps a special font, just to underline its jarring presence.’
“I thought about quitting because, after Istanbul, nothing made sense any more. The 2005 Champions League final simply suffocated me.
“To most people’s minds, the reason we lost on penalties was Jerzy Dudek – that jackass of a dancer who took the mickey out of us by swaying about on his line and then rubbed salt into the wound by saving our spot kicks.
“I could hardly sleep and even when I did drop off, I awoke to a grim thought: I’m disgusting. I can’t play any more. I went to bed with Dudek and all his Liverpool team-mates.’
“I’ll never fully shake that sense of absolute impotence when destiny is at work. The feeling will cling to my feet forever, trying to pull me down…
“There are always lessons to be found in the darkest moments. It’s a moral obligation to dig deep and find that little glimmer of hope or pearl of wisdom.
