Starts tomorrow, without doubt the worst Aussie team in 25 years, Warne, McGrath, Hayden, both Waugh brothers all retired, Bret Lee injured for 1st test, get ready for mass hysteria in the English press for the next couple of months. Still decent viewing while waiting for the 15th of August to come along.
Never liked cricket (don't understand a bit of it) and hate watching sky sports news in the summer because most of their stories are about the sport. But even I know that the aussies aren't near full strenght so the english will probably win and we'll be hearing about it for years just like we still hear about their win in 2005. I always laugh tho at that image of england lifting the trophy, has to be one of the worst trophies in any sport. A hugh hyped up competition just to win this...
really never got cricket until the last world cup and now am crazy for it.Not actually that hard to understand when you get into it. With the Australians this bad cant see past an England win.
Really Really dont know here. Realistically this is a terrible Aussie team and i have to admit I know a lot less about them than 2 years ago. Home advantage is huge, but England are incredibly unpredictable, brilliant one day, awful teh next. I reckon it will go down to final test but Id fancy Aussies to do it. Hope England do it, but I doubt it
cant stand test cricket, 20/20 or a one dayer yea went to oz v pakistan about 4 years ago and ended up in the members bar and just went on the lock in the bar only reason people go to test cricket is to get away from the woman for 10 hours
Hate test cricket with a passion, one dayers can be exciting, but 5 days of lads hitting it off their knee is not my idea of entertainment. Hope Australia white wash them.
Stuck a score on engerland to win series 2-1 @ 9s.I think the 1st match will end a draw with a dodgy forecast 6/4 a draw a pretty decent bet.
I've only started watching cricket a few years ago (mainly because my brother's a big fan) but it really is a great game to watch...the 50 overs can be a bit tiresome, but i think there seems to be some sort of stigma attached to the complexity of the game...
In fairness Joe if some seem to struggle with understanding the offside rule in football imagine trying trying to explain to them the duckworth lewis method of scoring in cricket Me grandad was a huge fan of cricket and when i was a kid spending me summer hols with me grandparents i would watch it regular.Lost interest in it after he died but enjoyed the 20 twenty world cup recently and will watch a bit of the ashes series.
In fairness Paddy it's a while since the Waugh brothers played It's a poor Aussie team by their high standards but wether England will be any better than them is the question. I think England will need to win the first test in Cardiff to have a chance as the pitch is really set up for spinners which after all the years is what the Aussies now don't want
How can you tell your wife you are just popping out to play a match and then not come back for five days? [on test cricket] Rafa Benitez Legend
