Anyone been watching this over the last couple of weeks on Sky? One of the best short series i've watched, great viewing looking forward to the final episode next week. Tom Hardy has been excellent in it as has Shaun Evans
YES! It's absolutely brilliant.Best series i've watched in along time. That Tom Hardy lad deserves an award for the performance.
Yeah great, but very graphic etc, doesnt bother me though. Very well done had sky plused it and just watched the 2nd & 3rd episodes last nite....cant wait for the fianl 1 next week. Freddie jnr is a bit of a psyhco but sure who wudnt have been after what he has seen and heard. Has anyone read the book?
Read all of Martin Coles books, enjoyed them all but they do tend to get repetitive. The Take was on of her good ones. Think another one of her books was made into a tv show ?? not 100%
Come to think of it, i didnt think there would be many lads that would be into her stuff, but there u go
Why not?? East end style gangsters goes along the same lines as lock stock, the krays and snatch etc. Id say most lads wud be into that sort of thing
It hasn't been a very girly series now has it?? I think it's been very good so far, but a bit predictable. The actor playing Freddie has been excellent. Proper naughty! I also noticed his daughter that was getting married is one of the actors from Fair City. (Don't ask me how I know )
Everyone I know that has read her books has been female, just find it interesting that men enjoy them also, always classed her as been geared towards the female readers. I now know Im wrong
My daughter is in this as an extra. She's in a photo on a mantlepiece in some scene. She was three months old at the time but the money paid for her new car seat. Recession busting or what! (no children were harmed in the making of this programme)
The wife is a big fan and reads all the books, when I saw the ad I was hooked. Very good and looking forward to the last part on Wednesday
really good, gritty, didnt even notice it was filmed in dublin, soundtrack was excellent too, looking forward to final episode
Most of it was filmed in the old John Player factory on South Circular Road, with the surrounding flats doubling up for the exteriors.
I knew some of it was familiar but just put it down to same style architecture in London as Dublin. Good to know if you need some eighties infrastructure you come to Dublin. I have being watching it but my bird keeps telling me whats about to happen. May have to set little freddie on her
Jaysus as kids we used to scale the fence in that kip and root through the skips looking for reject smokes, ahh memories
Anyone who enjoyed Tom Hardys performance in the Take should check him out in the movie Bronson which is a cross between Chopper and A Clockwork Orange, he's unbelievable in a great little movie based on Britains most notorious criminal, he's gonna be a big star I reckon
Sky + it and watched it all in 1 sitting excellent I have to say, modelled alot on the Godfather the way Jimmy is the quite Micheal type character that develops.
its a great film alright .well worth a watch. That bronson fella is nuts but he plays the part so well. Very good actor tom is
Its was all shot in the old stoping ground trucker watch out for a few heads you would know in the coming home party, just a few people out of the flats having a dance. All the pub sceens were in the Lark in meath street.
