Ice Broadband, it's all we can get here. It's good enough, though sometimes it just won't load pages quickly, especially films on TV Links... Still though, it's a God send after having dial up for two years!

Yeah with UPC as well, their Broadband is easily the best, nobody comes close. Customer service is pathetic.

when it comes to broadband UPC wins hands down, never had a problem with them. eircom bt all them offer you 6 or 7meg and you never get that, the most people can seem to get is 3 meg, with UPC you pay for 25meg and you get 25 meg.

Have UPC myself and it's good. At the start it was a nightmare and we had to get technicians out and all but it's sorted now and its grand.

Absolute rubbish mate.First off you only have 10 gigs a month and a decent stream would use about 500 mb a month. Also they are no where near as fast as the proper broadband. Its all i can get in the wilderness out here though.

I used to have the broadband in a box from irish broadband. That was woeful but we are now with eircom which is quite expensive. If we had the choice we would go with upc but our estate isnt able to get upc.

Well stay away from those Dongles. Not worth the money or hassle.Im paying 20 euro a month for 10 gigs and a still of less than 1mb.

Hi,

I've Eircom, live over DNS - Dub3, but feel the speed is pretty slow (can be a bit faster late at night), just checked it there on the website linked below and posted the readings:

http://www.broadbandireland.ie/speed-test.php

Download 2456Kbps
Upload 219Kbps

How does that compare with some of your upload and download speeds, out of interest everyone ?

Thanks

Mine is similar. Can't get a proper reading right now, as there is 3 people downloading on it, me browsing, another playing ps3, and one playing poker.

But yours is more than 10 times as fast as Garrett's

I feel your pain mate ....

Mind you, I can't complain too much as I don't pay for the service at the moment, someone else has kindly been picking up the tab for me, but how we can't all expect a similar level of service is beyond me....

I actually posted a question or two about that, on another thread here late last night, wondering what kind of download speeds would be needed for reliable streaming from LiveOnlineFooty etc.

A few other questions re: PS3 etc also there, following earlier tips from some of you guys a while back, so if anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it:

Sorry Garrett.I wouldn't be able to help you out on that one as I'm not up to speed.I would be very interested to find what ideas people have all the same.I long for the day that I can ring Sky to cancel my subscription and watching ratboy last night just made me more determined.
