Paddy Power have been kind enough to send me a free €25.00 bet. I was thinking of an outsider in the golf. Any Tips?

Paul Casey e/w has been playing well this year and has even relocated to the US for better tournaments and experience. He is who i'll be backing anyway...

He is only 22/1 which is bit low for his record. I am thinking a 100/1 job or Tiger.

Jeremy Chapman in the RP reckons only an act of God can stop the tiger.

Some bloke on newstalk said the word from the caddies is that Tiger has it won already. 7/4 tough is a pisstake.

I think Retief Goosen 40/1 and Camilo Villegas 45/1 are good value E/W. Paddy Power giving 6 places. I'm gonna have a nice E/W bet on one of these two

S Appleby (175/1) I may stand corrected but think he was leading up until the 2nd day last time

Its hard to look past Tiger. He won the last time it was played at Bethpage and he was the only player to finish under par.

Dustin Johnson @ 100/1 - he's having a great year so far - more conservative play would be Geoff Oligvy

    M.A.Jimenez 125/1
    D.Toms 60/1
    T.Clark 70/1
    M.Wier 70/1
    H.Slocum 175/1
    R.Mediate 200/1

1 pt e/w on each player, first 6 places.

Much more fun than a 12 pt win on Tiger at crazy odds.

Anyone backing Tiger i would hold off, good chance he'll hit bigger in-running at some stage.
In-fact why not lay with a view to backing later for a free bet ;)

Have just invested €70 in the following:

€10 Lucas Glover to be 1st Round Leader (150/1)
    €10 ew Villegas (45/1)
    €10 ew Mahan (66/1)
    €10 ew KJ Choi (100/1)

They were John Duggan from Today FM's tips this morning, and he's normally very good on the golf.

i listen to drivetime sport a lot and on last night's show there was a lad called barker davis on it and he said paul casey was a "phenomenal choice."
he also picked jeff ogilvy as an outsider.
the funny thing is that casey is more of an outsider in the betting than ogilvy.
i didn't hear the show the night before the irish open (fcukin raging i missed it) but that night shane lowry was tipped by one of the guests on the show (not sure if it was this barker davis fella who tipped him.)
anyway,i'm already quids in this week from a horse that was tipped on the same show so i'm going to have a nibble on these 2.
just thought i'd let yis know....

I backed Casey to win at 25/1 and did an each way on Boo Weekley 125/1. He's a bit erratic but hits the ball a mile if he's on song, which is agood thing to do in the US Open
