    Quote:
Fernando Torres has urged Liverpool to sign David Villa and recreate the Spanish strike partnership at Anfield.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea are all in the market for Villa, but Torres wants to see his fello European champion on Merseyside.

"Rafa Benitez makes the signings and I'm sure those who come will improve us," said Torres. "If it was me I would bring David Villa. But that may not be possible.

"We play well together and link up so well. It's a pleasure to play with him.

"I don't know if we are the best partnership in the world but we are the European champions and that is almost the same."

Don't we all.......here's hoping Rafa has the money to fund it

Can't see us having the funds for this. Selling Arbeloa and Dossena and taking into account the Crouch money that we're owed will stretch to getting Johnson in. We don't have another 40-50 million to spend I'd say. Other sales might bring in 10-20 million but Rafa would want another 20-30 million on top of that from the two wanks, oops, yanks... can't see that happening. We can dream though

until he signs for someone else i will cling on to the faint hope of him coming to lpool, though the fact that lpool are talking to tevez would suggest that he wont be....

Why doesnt Rafa convince the yanks to buy Villa on the Perez belief that a top player through merchandising will pay for himself. Id find it hard to believe that all the Nando stuff that flies off the shelves in the club shops hasnt recouped most of his transfer budget.

I dont want Alonso to go but he is the only way we can get Villa if we get £25m plus for him and top that up. Rafa does not believe in the english 2 main strikers he has always prefered the one main one (Torres) and the secondary deeper striker (Stevie). If Villa came he would be put into the Stevie role as Torres pace will always keep him as the main striker which would mean Stevie would funnel back to CM alonside Masch so there would be no spot for Alonso.

I do think that between us and the Mancs hed join us, both from the view of the spanish connection and also Im sure he will be aware of what happened to Tevez. If Rafa put him in Stevies spot he'd be guaranteed first team football week in week out with us.

Think he would be a amazing signing....

But moving stevie back to central midfield????? im not sure about it...Stevie has been class in that new position just behind el nino...

also that would mean losing either masch or xabi to accomadate stevie going back into midfield...which again i wouldnt like to see either of them going..

but in rafa i do trust and if he was to sign villa im sure he would fit him some where in the team....That why he gets paid the big money...:D

I think villa in the stevie role would work well. Then have stevie in the middle and rotate Xabi/Masch (don't wanna see either go).

    ----------------Pepe-----------------------

    Johnson -- Carra/Agger/Skrtel -- Insua

    -------Stevie------Masch/Xabi-------

    Kuyt--------Villa---------Riera

    ----------Nando--------------------

    Thats a title-winner there

Yes it is. Thats the team that dreams are made of. I'd settle for Aguero in there instead of Villa if he wasn't possible

    villa

+1 , athletico said they would listen to offers for aguero so why not put in a bid for him? if rafa doesnt like babel then id be willing to let him go, along with arbeloa, dossena and degen and try for villa or aguero

Yup. Babel, Lucas, Benny and Arbelo have all been linked with Athletico this summer, I think any of those players would be great signings for Athletico. They need them a lot more than we do. as well as this, its well known that Aguero is a huge Liverpool fan and has always wanted to play for the club. He's also great friends with Torres and his national captain Mascherano. To be honest aobut Villa I don't think its possible. The news is now that Real cannot even afford him. Barca have offered 50 million + 2 players. One if which is believed to be Bojan. Liverpool cannot come even close to that

yeah i think villa is just everyone dreaming being honest if madrid cant afford him we defo cant, obviously id love to see him here but i think now is the time to move for aguero. surelly if we can pay 20 mill (cant remember exact figure) for keane, we can put a decent bid in for aguero if we sell the players mentioned above. oh and also would we get anything for voronin?

They say 3.5 for Voronin. Thats what Berlin couldn't afford anyway. Yeah he should defo put some sort of a bid in for Aguero.
