Nicolas Lodeiro has been in top form with Nacional of Montevideo this year, and it seems that his efforts havenâ€™t gone unnoticed. The talented attacker has attracted the attention of Liverpool and his club have said they are willing to negotiate a future transfer.

The playerâ€™s performances in the Copa Libertadores have been particularly impressive, but if Nacional reach the decisive stages of the competition a move could be put on hold. Nacional are the favourites to advance to the semi-finals of Latin Americaâ€™s most important club competition when they face Palmeiras on Wednesday.

Lodeiro, 20, is one of the most talented players to have emerged from Uruguay in recent years, and his playing style compares to that of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi. His ability to breeze through defenders at a high speed has caught the eye of several European clubs.

Nacional are well aware that they count with a player who is destined for European glory, and because of this they will demand a hefty transfer fee. Although it has yet to be confirmed Liverpool are likely to make a big-money offer for the playerâ€™s immediate services.

In recent months it was believed that Lodeiro would move to Barcelona, but latest reports indicate that Liverpool are the front runners to secure his signature.
